The United States issued a new standard for latex gloves

The American Society for Experimental Materials recently promulgated the ASTMD3578-01 version of the "Standard Specification for Latex Examination Gloves", which puts forward new requirements for the technical indicators of latex gloves.
The ASTMD3578-01 standard specifies two technical indicators for latex gloves: mandatory requirements and non-mandatory requirements. In terms of mandatory requirements, it is stipulated that the protein content shall not exceed 100ug/dm2; the residual powder content shall not exceed 2mg/dm2; and the average powder content shall not exceed 10mg/dm2 from this year. In addition, the new version of the standard also adds a new indicator for the content of antigenic protein in terms of mandatory requirements, and the requirement must not exceed 10ug/dm2.
In terms of non-mandatory requirements, latex gloves are divided into two categories according to different physical properties. Requirements for the physical properties of Class I gloves: the tensile strength before aging should not be less than 18MPa, and the elongation at break should not be less than 700%; when the elongation of Class I gloves is 500%, the tensile strength should not be greater than 5.5MPa ; After aging, the tensile strength should not be less than 14MPa, and the elongation at break should not be less than 500%. Requirements for the physical properties of second-class gloves; the tensile strength before and after aging is not less than 14MPa; the elongation at break before aging is not less than 650%, and the elongation at break after aging is not less than 500%; The tensile strength when the elongation is 500% is not more than 2.8MPa.
The United States is one of the important markets for the export of latex gloves in my country. The US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) uses the ASTMD3578 standard as the inspection basis for latex gloves imported and marketed.
